Pineapple Project Update

It is now time for my second update on my first Pineapple Project. My last update was April 10 so it has been a while. My Pineapple is doing fantastic. It seems to be really happy. I water the pineapple daily and have it placed in partial afternoon shade. I would recommend this to anyone who is growing Pineapple. Click here if you want to see my previous posts on the Pineapple Project which includes step-by-step instructions on how I did it. For now here are some pictures on my Pineapple Project progress.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

Your fruit will be alot larger if you plant it in the ground! It looks like it is happy and healthy though, good growing!!!

I have heard of doing this before with pineapples. Can't wait to see what it look like when it's bigger. Will you actually get pineapples or is it a plant that need a male and female to produce fruit?

How great to be able to grow pineapples - I think I'd sruggle with them here in the UK. I'll keep checking back to see how you get on.

I believe all pineapple plants produce fruit. It generally takes 2 years but with regular food and water I will see if I can produce a little earlier. Thank you for your comments!

Hi Aaron, Like your gator in the header.

How fun to plant a pineapple and even more fun when you get to eat it... I guess it will be a couple of years.
Hope you are staying cool in these awfully hot Florida August.

Hi,
Your new layout looks really good- the gator banner on the top is GREAT ! (Very Florida looking).
And it seems like you've removed some of the flashy stuff from your page too- that's good...it really looks streamlined and focuses on what you're trying to accomplish.
Lookin' good...Did you look at my sky photos on my blog by the way?
Thanks,

Love the new header photo!
I'm a bit "green" with envy over your pineapple...we have on inside, but it will never amount to much..they never do for me..we just keep trying. :-)

Cool post, and the tips in the previous post concerning how to root the pineapple are great. I tried one this year and failed. I'll try again following your method. Your blog's new look is also great.

Thanks Neza you rock! I have not checked it out but I am on my way over. Kate, how much sun does your pineapple get? They love the sun. And it takes around 2 years to produce fruit. I don't know how long you are waiting before saying that nothing happens with them but it does take a while. John, I wish you the best of luck with you next pineapple project. Thank you for the kind words Beth. Val, I do like the Stapelia, mainly the flower. It is very attractive to me. Thank you all for stopping by!

Hi Mike, sorry to respond to your request so late. I haven't been back to Blotanical. Yes, I think your "new look" makes a good impact. The header photo suits your tropical posts. You have always interesting post and are very enthusiastic, great! The pineapple looks good. My neighbour V. has pineapple planted just over the fence. I am amazed how well they grow. She harvested already fairly big specimens and they were yellow ripe. I mus ask her hoe they tasted. Good luck with your project.
