This weeks Medicinal Monday post is all about Pot Marigold ( Calendula officinalis ) or English Marigold. This plant grows to a height of two feet tall and grows very well in full sun. This plant should be spaced anywhere from 6 - 9 inches apart and hold bright yellow and orange flowers. The Pot Marigold is very attractive to bees and birds and is resistant to deer. Make sure and water regularly but do not over water. The Pot Marigold also has medicinal quality's as well. The following is a list of the medicinal quality's that the Pot Marigold has:

External Uses

1. sprains
2. warts
3. stings
4. bites
5. corns

Internal Uses

1. fever
2. chronic infection
3. varicose veins

I love calendulas, they are so fun and happy. I haven't used them medicinally but do sprinkle them in salads sometimes. Just love the silkiness of the petals. Thanks for spotlighting them!

I actually used this to stop bleeding when someone sliced their finger and it did work.
