During Tropical Storm Faye my yard took some damage. I was holding off on this post to see exactly what would happen. I think it is time now to reveal a first for me. I have a banana tree along my fence line that was snapped in half by the strong winds. The trunk was still in tact, just folded over. I was sure it was going to be a goner.
I couldn't have been more wrong. My folded over banana tree has turned into a double headed banana tree. Where the fold is in the trunk, a new head has emerged. The process reminds me of something from the movie aliens. I have taken some progression pictures of this two headed banana tree. I have never seen a two headed banana tree before so I don't know what to expect. Please enjoy the pictures.

The Beginning
Head Number Two Emerging
I though It Would Have Died By Now
Still Growing, And The Old Head Is Still Alive
It Is Getting Stout, Shooting A New Leaf
Unbelievable
If You Look Closely, You Can See The Original Head In The Back Still Kicking
I hope you were as amazed as I still am, see you next time.
