Florida Snow In The Summer

We had a summertime surprise today here in Florida. It rained non-stop for over 3 hours. We need the rain pretty bad so it was a very good thing. What we weren't ready for was all of the hail that came down for the first 30 minutes of the downpour. The hail that was falling from the sky was the size of walnuts if not a little bigger. I thought my windshield was going to crack and I thought I was going to have to get body work done on the car it was hitting so hard. Good news is that everything was fine, no damage to the car.

I did manage to get some pretty good pictures of our little Florida Snow Shower. The rain water was so cold as it was falling from the sky. It was very strange since it was just 90 degrees outside before the storm. Then to have the balls of ice just laying on the ground piling up when they should have melted rather quickly. Only in Florida I guess, one thing we say here is that if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change. Never thought this would happen though. It has hailed before but this is the first time I have watched the hail build up on the ground. Here are some pictures of our little tropical snowstorm.

LOL, we have the same saying here in Virginia. I'm sure that was a site to see. Hail in Florida in June! I've heard everything now.

Wow - that's crazy! Send your rain over here, sans hail of course. We need it too!

I'm sure it cant be as changeable as in the UK - its been known for us to have all 4 seasons in one day!

we have that saying in Colorado too! Must be universal?! Hail in Florida has to be some sort of weather anomaly tho?? I never dreamed you could get hail in summer in that neck of the woods?? Glad nothing was damaged.

It is crazy, we get hail every once in a while. I have never seen it pile up on the ground though. The hail stayed on the ground for a half an hour. Not to mention it was just 90 degrees before the storm.

Great pics, here in Indiana we have had a lot of storms with hail this year (more than usual anyway) if there is such a thing as "usual"., lol

Hey I just came across this site looking for something on Frangie Pangie. Awesome site....but the killer is the playlist. The band Long Beach Dub All Stars was playing ...who knew tey even existed. I had to go to Amazon and try and find it right away..Got the album Great Band! and then the Beatles ...had to go buy the White Album....again (Bought the vinyl first time round. Really so much good shit on the site it takes numerous visits. Thanks

Thanks John. Long Beach Dub is an excellent band, they are one of my favorites. If you like them you should look up slightly stoopid, and The expendables too.
