Last Sunday there was a man in Palm Bay Florida that was spotted tossing an object from the window of his vehicle in an area where one of many fires started. Since these fires were started over 52 miles, 11,853 acres of land has been burned. There has been 20 homes destroyed and 140 other structures damaged. As of now the fires are 40% contained leaving 6800 acres by Interstate 95, and 3700 acres around the US 1 area still burning and moving.
There are 300 firefighters at work bringing city, county and state firefighters together to battle this mighty blaze. There are 30 bulldozers dozing fire lanes in hopes to defeat the mighty fires.
When I went outside to play in my yard it was extremely foggy out. I snapped a few shots of the effects from the fires burning 2 hours away from where I live.
My heart goes out to all the family's affected by this mans horrible doings. I hope they teach him a lesson!!

Have they caught the guy? It must be worrying as I know fires can move quickly - hope your patch is OK
Yes Helen they caught the guy. They are trying to place him at the scene of the other fires at this time.
That's terrible the air quality most be pretty horrendous. Stay safe.
I was wondering how close you are to that fire...sorry about that. I hope it rains.

Natural disasters are bad enough in this state. It's a shame that someone creates an unnatural disaster for whatever reason. I hope the guy who started the fires is sentenced to hard labor if convicted instead of just sitting in prison at the taxpayers' expense. Though I don't suppose hard labor is even an option anymore in our failed criminal justice system.
Thanks Neza!! You nailed it Walk2write, the system is a joke!! It is a shame, he will probably get slapped on the wrist compared to what he should get. It is a wonder what drives people to act out this way, if they knew they would be in trouble they might think twice but he knows he won't get much time which is probably a good trade for the fame he just recieved.
